Community Health Care Sports Medicine and Family Practice in Wadsworth is led by Laura Distel, MD, a board-certified family physician with an added certificate of qualification (CAQ) in sports medicine. She has experience taking care of a variety of non-operative musculoskeletal injuries and complaints for patients of all ages, including older children, adolescents and teenagers, and adults. At our Summa YMCA location, we provide on-site X-rays that will be personally reviewed during the office visit. Orthopedic services provided include corticosteroid joint and tendon injections, hyaluronic acid (Synvisc) knee injections, simple fracture management, and bracing.

She manages other sports related conditions, such as exercise-induced asthma and concussions, and provides advice on conditioning and preventative health as well.

The goal is to provide high quality medical care to improve pain and function, prevent further injury, and allow for a safe and timely return to physical activity and sports.
